I am a lifelong learner, and I want to pass that passion for education on to the students at Kenwood High School. In my classroom, I believe in developing engaging curriculum that has real-world applications that will enable our students to thrive in the 21st Century. I graduated high school from Mt. Juliet, TN. I originally came to Clarksville, TN, to attend Austin Peay State University, where I earned a BA in Foreign Languages and an MA in English. My studies took me to Spain and to Japan, and when I graduated, I went to teach in South Korea. When I returned to the USA, I worked as a reporter for The Tennessean while pursuing a Masters in Teaching. I began teaching in Metro Nashville Public Schools in 2008. In 2014, I received my PhD in Literacy Studies from MTSU, a journey that combined my love of foreign languages, teaching, and English. I returned to Clarksville, TN, in the summer of 2015 to teach at Kenwood High School, and I am so excited to be a Knight!!

Hotty Toddy! I am so excited to be a part of the Kenwood family where we are “Student Centered and Solutions Oriented.” Life has afforded me so many wonderful opportunities, and being a teacher is one of the greatest of those most favorable opportunities. I love teaching; I love children; and I truly believe that every single child can learn. I’m a graduate of the great University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). I have a Bachelors in English and Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. We’re going to have a wonderful year; as students learn from me, I will continue to learn from them. Go Knights!

I've been teaching professionally since 2009 after graduating from Bowling Green State University in Ohio with a Bachelor's of Science in 7-12 Integrated Language Arts. I received my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from BGSU in 2014 while teaching in New York state. My family and I moved to Fort Campbell in January 2018 where my husband is stationed with the US Army, and I have been teaching at Kenwood High School since February 2018. I love to read, cook, garden, spend time outdoors with my family, and snuggle with my 3 year old daughter.

I have been a teacher in Clarksville since 1997. Kenwood has been my home since 2003. Being a member of the Freshman Academy has been a tremendous joy for me! Teaching freshmen is what I love most. Being a former military brat, I have called numerous places home...though none have been as welcoming as Clarksville. I am very proud of our Kenwood students!

I graduated with a Bachelors degree in English with a secondary certification from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania in 2011. This is my 5th year with CMCSS, and it is my 2nd year at Kenwood High School. I love teaching both 9th and 10th grade because it affords me the great opportunity to teach some students for more than one year. I'm looking forward to another great year at the castle! #KnightNationRise
