Welcome to the best subject, World History! Who wouldn't like to learn about mummies, Greek gods, gladiators and terra cotta warriors? If you answered no to this question, I bet I can change your mind by the end of the year. We will begin the year with the Stone Age and end it with the Fall of Rome. In between these 2 time periods will be Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, India and Greece. We will learn about the PIECES of each culture. P=People I=Inventions E=Environment C=Culture E=Economics S= Social Organizations

Welcome to 6th grade science! This is my 14th year at NPMS and my 19th year teaching. I have also taught 4th and 5th graders. I have a BA from APSU and a MA from Cumberland University. My goal regarding science this year is for students to identify and solve problems by thinking critically, along with being able to demonstrate a deep understanding of content. I want each student to embrace science and the importance of science in our past, present, and future.

I was raised on a horse and cattle farm in rural Kentucky. I am married to Dr. Dennis O. Minix, a retired principal. My son, Christopher D. Minix, is a practicing attorney in Bowling Green, KY. His wife is a teacher in Glasgow, KY. I hold Bachelor and Master Degrees from Western Kentucky University (WKU). My doctorate is from Peabody/Vanderbilt University. I served as professor at WKU for 15 years. I taught grades 6-8 at Alvaton and Drakes Creek Schools for 12 years. I genuinely appreciate the opportunity to work with your child.
