  KHS Annual Talent Show Thurs. March 15
The Annual Talent Show will be 3/15/18 @ 6:30 PM in the KHS Theater. This event is in memory of Dr. Pamela Herring and is held to raise money for KHS Book Scholarships. Admission is $5 per person and $3 for Gold Card holders and children under 12. The event is sponsored by the KHS Chapter of the National Honor Society.
  TN PROMISE Required Meeting March 14
All KHS seniors participating in the TN Promise Scholarship program are required to attend this meeting! Parents may attend but seniors are REQUIRED. Check in time is 5 PM @ KHS Activities Hall outside the cafeteria. The meeting starts PROMPTLY at 5:30 PM . Don't be late or you will have to attend a make-up meeting.
  Dual Enrollment
If you have any students who are interested in learning more about dual enrollment through Austin Peay State University, we are holding an event on our main campus on March 19 at 6:30 p.m. in Claxton 216. At this meeting, we will share information about: ? courses available in the spring and fall ? how to enroll in those courses ? funding for dual enrollment Please encourage the students to RSVP by responding to this email address.   Graduation Order Delivery Date April 4
Jostens will deliver cap & gowns, announcements and other graduation items on Wednesday, April 4. They will distribute orders and take final payments during homeroom and all lunch periods from 10:45 AM - 1 PM. Cash or credit/debit cards only. No checks
  Saturday School

  National Honor Society
NHS is a nationally-recognized society in which members demonstrate scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Kenwood High School sophomore and junior students who have at least a 93% cumulative average and no discipline referrals will be invited to apply this week. The application will help demonstrate the candidate’s leadership and service. In early April, a 5-member faculty committee will select new inductees from the completed applications. Those selected will be inducted in August or September the following school year. More information about the organization and membership criteria can be found on our website at
  After School Tutoring
KHS afternoon tutoring is now offered Monday through Wednesday only from 2:30-4:30 pm. Free bus transportation is provided if the student had the necessary transportation permission forms signed and submitted to the front office. Contact the school's main office for additional bus transportation forms @ 931-905-7900.

  KHS Robotics Team Qualifies for State Championship
The KHS Robotics team competed at the Chattanooga State/Volkswagen VEX TN Championship Qualifier. All 5 teams made it to the quarterfinals of the event after three teams were positioned as alliance captains. The Kenwood Knights Shield team was awarded the Design Award for their use of the Engineering Design Process. The Design Award has qualified 98706S Kenwood Knights Shield to compete at the TN State VEX Championship on March 2nd.
  KHS Robotics Team Takes State Qualifier
The KHS Robotics team competed on Saturday at the Rose Park VEX TN State Championship Qualifier. Our students competed for multiple awards and performed excellently. All teams made it to the quarterfinals of the event after a grueling day of qualification matches. The Kenwood Knights Shield team was awarded the Design Award for their use of the Engineering Design Process. The Kenwood Knights Siege team won two awards. The team won the tournament champion award by going undefeated in the Knock Out Rounds and winning a hard fought championship round. The Siege team was also award the Excellence Award, which is the highest award a team can receive at a VEX tournament. Both the tournament championship and Excellence Awards have qualified 98706D Kenwood Knights Siege to compete at the TN State VEX Championship on March 2nd.
The Knights Battalion JROTC Leadership and Academic Team competed in the Red River Brigade. Seven Teams participated in the JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB). The Knights Battalion JROTC Leadership Team came in 1st Place. Photos show Academic and Leadership Teams. The Leadership Team is proudly displaying their 1st Place certificate.
  HOSA Regional Competition
HOSA had their Regional Competition this past Friday in Gallatin in which our students competed against everyone in Middle TN. ALL 14 students placed from Kenwood and I am very excited for them. It is extremely unusual for anyone to have ALL their students place and it shows just how hard our students worked to achieve their awards. First Place---Anaya Gray—Physical Therapy First Place—Emmanuel Bracey—Special Speaking Skills Second Place—Abigail Byerly, Arianna Roggenkamp, Dai Bryant, Olivia Collins—Community Awareness Second Place—Kyleah Dennis, Chelsea McGregor, Grace Crews, Ashley Cline—Creative Problem Solving Fourth Place—Jordan Long, Trent Puckett---Forensic Science Fourth Place—Shamya Booth—Medical Assisting Fifth Place---Hannah Aldridge—Cert Skill Testing These students have earned their reward to go to the State Competition in Chattanooga over our Spring Break in March.

  Titans Radio Student Broadcaster of the the Year
KHS Senior and A/V Production student Marzell Norris won the Titans Radio Student Broadcaster of the the year award sponsored by Priceless IGA. He received a Priceless IGA gift card for being a weekly qualifier and then ultimately won the coveted award. They presented a plaque to him live during the Titans Radio Pregame Show where he met Mike Keith, Dave McGinnis, Rhett Bryan, Hunter Rice and Mark Howard. Marzell was given four tickets to the Titans vs. Jaguars game. He brought his A/V Production peer Keona Boykin, his A/V Production teacher Mandy Kelly and her daughter. Marzell also received a gift card for the Titans Locker Room and him and his guests were able to welcome the Titans football players in the tunnel before being escorted to their club level seats. Marzell won the contest by submitting an example of him doing play-by-play announcing and a recommendation from his A/V Production teacher.

FAFSA is FREE application for college financial aide. It is REQUIRED to complete for college admissions. TN Promise students MUST have their FAFSA app completed in JANUARY, 2018. All other college applicants have until May. Parents will need to provide access to 2016 tax returns by creating their own FAFSA account to link to their tax return!
  Anime & Gamers Club Tuesdays 2:30 - 4:30
The club will now meet from 2:30 - 4:30 PM on Tuesdays in the library. Please note the end time change and have transportation on time! All students must sign in at the desk and will not be dismissed into the school. Students will use the outside library entrance to leave.
  Student Laptop Information
Please view the information provided for high school and middle school student laptops. Parents and students must sign the paperwork to be issued the student laptop. Forms are available in the school office. Parents who attended the information meetings should have turned these in on meeting night.
All CURRENT student drivers are REQUIRED to register to park on school grounds.Students must park in the Stadium Student Lot. Download the application and bring in your driver license, proof of current insurance and registration. $15 for full year. $10 for Gold Card holders. See Mrs. Smith in the Cafeteria during lunches or in the Library Media Center. Parking permits for new drivers will be available all year in the Library Media Center.
