We are located in Clarksville, Tennessee between Fort Campbell, Kentucky and
Nashville, serving a population of over 147,000 people.
CMCSS is the seventh largest district in Tennessee, and according to U.S. Census figures in the top five fastest growing cities in the country.
Clarksville-Montgomery County School System serves more than 31,000 students and employs
about 4,200 teachers, administrators and support staff.
There are 38 schools in the district: one K-5 Magnet School, 22 elementary, 7
middle, 7 high, and one Middle College, which is located on the campus of Austin Peay
State University. CMCSS also offers seven specialized, interest-driven college and career preparatory schools within our high schools.
CMCSS is the second largest employer in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area,
next to Fort Campbell Army Post.

With a graduation rate of 95.2% in 2012 the school system exceeds both state and national averages and receives strong community support for
education with an emphasis on 100% graduation for every student. The dropout rate for 2011-12 was 1.9%. In May 2013, 1,810 CMCSS graduates
earned $30 million in college scholarships.
