Kindergarten Roundups Scheduled

CMCSS Elementary Schools are ready to receive next school year’s incoming kindergartners with orientations and roundups scheduled throughout April and May.
Barksdale – May 3 at 5:30 p.m.
Barkers Mill – May 8 at 5:30 p.m.
Byrns Darden – May 1 from 5-6 p.m.
Carmel – in conjunction with Sango on May 3 at 6 p.m. at Sango Elementary
Cumberland Heights – April 17 at 6 p.m.
East Montgomery – Thursday, May 3
Glenellen – April 30 from 5:30-7 p.m.
Hazelwood – May 1 from 5 – 6 p.m.
Kenwood – May 3 at 6 p.m.
Liberty – May 1 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Minglewood – May 10 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Montgomery Central – April 5 from 5:30-7 p.m.
Moore Magnet – May 10 from 5 p.m. -6 p.m.
Norman Smith – May 1 from 5-6 p.m.
Northeast – May 10 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Ringgold – May 1 from 5 – 6 p.m.
Rossview – May 3 at 6 p.m.
St. Bethlehem – April 18 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Sango – May 3 at 6 p.m.
West Creek – April 19 from 5-6:30 p.m.
Woodlawn – May 8 from 5- 6 p.m.
According to the State Department of Education, (T.C.A. 49-6-201 (b)(3), “children entering kindergarten shall be five (5) years of age on or before Sept. 30 of the current kindergarten term.”
Tennessee State Law also requires that a student going into the first grade must show proof of attendance in an accredited kindergarten program. In CMCSS, the first full day for kindergarten for the 2012-13 school year will be Aug. 17
