CMCSS presented its plan to the School Board to better balance school enrollment for the 2014-15 school year without rezoning students from their current school assignment.

Rossview Elementary’s fifth graders will be assigned to a classroom wing at Rossview Middle School. St. Bethlehem Elementary, which shares its attendance zone with Burt Elementary, will relocate its third grade students to Burt, which currently serves the shared zone’s fourth and fifth graders.

While this is not a long-term solution, it will address the immediate issue of overcrowding at the two schools without the disruption of rezoning at this time.

A Rossview Elementary administrator will also move over to the middle school, along with the fifth grade teachers. The students will ride the same school bus as the K-4 students and be on similar start and stop times.
