Community Involvement
There are many opportunities for the community to make a difference for children in Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools. The School System has a goal to raise student achievement for ALL students. We believe in this goal and we are committed to keeping our focus on reading, writing and math.
With support from the community we know that we will be more effective and efficient in helping every child succeed.
Proctors Needed for TCAP Testing
Dear CMCSS Parents and Community Partners,
Although the week of April 18-24 is “National Public School Volunteer Week”, CMCSS needs to get an early start with volunteers for our schools during TCAP assessments which take place April 13-16. During this time proctors are needed to help teachers monitor student test taking during the day. As a TCAP volunteer you will be asked to watch the children while they are being tested. A classroom teacher will also be in the room.
Volunteers will be asked to be available for monitoring over a 2 1/2 hour period which will include a required training prior to the testing. Monitors are asked to be there when the schools open. The opening time for each school is listed below. Please feel free to volunteer for one day or several days. Your commitment and support is greatly appreciated!
If you are at least 21 years old and would like to sign up to help, please visit the website TCAP Volunteer Signup site.

Community Volunteers
We are always in need of good people who are willing to work with students. Partners in Education
PIE is a program of the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Partners in Education works to unite Clarksville-Montgomery Schools with local businesses and organizations for the benefit of our entire community. This program allows us to integrate the ideas and energy of our young people with the knowledge and experience of the business and civic community. Partners have the opportunity to enhance the learning environment in our public schools with their expertise, time and financial or material resources.
If your business or organization is interested in becoming a Partner in Education, please contact Melinda Shepard, vice president Chamber of Commerce, 647-2331, ext 222 or Candy Johnson, CMCSS Community Relations Coordinator at (931) 920-7955 or candy.johnson@cmcss.net.
