Clarksville-Montgomery County School System serves approximately 34,900 students and employs about 4,200 teachers, administrators and support staff.
There are 39 schools in the district: one K-5 Magnet School, 23 elementary, 7 middle, 7 high, and one Middle College, which is located on the campus of Austin Peay State University. CMCSS also offers seven specialized, interest-driven college and career preparatory schools within our high schools.
CMCSS is the second largest employer in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area, next to Fort Campbell Army Post.

With a graduation rate of 96.5% in 2015 the school system exceeds both state and national averages and receives strong community support for education with an emphasis on 100% graduation for every student. The dropout rate for 2014-15 was 1.3%. In May 2015, 1,997 CMCSS graduates earned $37 million in college scholarships.
