The Plant Facilities budget sustains a broad range of school system needs. From foundations to furnishings it provides safe and accommodating facilities in which to educate students. The budget supports daily utility usage for thirty-five buildings. This includes water, sewer, gas and electricity from nine different vendors.

The budget supports professional design services of architects and engineers for small projects as well as transportation costs for moving numerous temporary classrooms (portables).

The General Purpose (GP) budget supports facility improvements of value less than $10,000 and other contracted services. These include ceiling/flooring replacement, painting projects, restroom partitions, parking lot striping, and window/door replacement.

As part of the 5-year Capital Projects budge, a list of projects of value greater than $10,000 is submitted to the school board and county commission. These projects may include roofing, electrical upgrades, major HVAC replacements and large paving projects. The major capital projects budget would also include any approved additions, renovations, or new school construction.
