Academic Awards Recognition Program

Since its inception in 1986, the Foundation has recognized CMCSS students who maintain academic

excellence with awards, receptions, media recognition, and banquet dinners. The students honored

are first, second and third year recipients who maintain no lower than a 93 average for the last two

consecutive semesters.

Great Idea Teacher Grants

The Education Foundation awards grants of up to $500 to teachers who need resources to bring an idea

to fruition for the benefit of student achievement. Great Idea Grants are open to all CMCSS teachers.

Kin-Der Kits for Elementary Schools

kinder

Kin-Der Kits are donated to parents at Kindergarten Round-up in May to help

prepare incoming kindergartners for school. Kits include basic school supplies,

flash cards to help practice fundamentals (colors, numbers, alphabet, etc.) as well

as documents required for registration, a readiness checklist, and lunch

information. These kits help parents understand what their child needs to know

to have a successful kindergarten experience.

STEM Initiative

Each year, The Education Foundation will focus on a district suggested initiative that aligns with science,

technology, engineering and math principles to better prepare our students for 21st century learning.

During the 2010-2011 school year we will work to obtain resources in order to add more model

classrooms to our schools. The model classrooms enable teachers to incorporate pictures, sound

and animation into daily lessons to help students’ ability to recall basic facts and understanding of complex

systems through multimedia.

Education Foundation Scholarships

Currently, the Education Foundation awards $1,000 college scholarships to CMCSS students in the

AVID program who meet the academic and community service criteria outlined by the Foundation Board.

Academic groups of CMCSS receiving scholarships are based on suggestions from our local school

district and may vary from year to year.

to licensed CMCSS teachers. The primary purpose of the Teacher Warehouse is to serve the educational

needs of children attending Clarksville - Montgomery County Schools by providing a unique means to

transfer donated, value purchased, and created products from businesses and individuals free to teachers

for use in their classrooms.

100% Graduation Initiative

The Education Foundation supports Clarksville-Montgomery County School System’s 100% Graduation initiative. This is a collaborative effort of businesses and community members to show students support and encouragement to help each and every child graduate.
