Middle College at Austin Peay State University

Middle College is a unique collaborative program between CMCSS and Austin Peay State University. This program enables junior and senior high school students to complete a high school education while receiving direct and invaluable access to free college courses at the same time. Through grants and scholarships, Middle College students are not required to pay tuition nor do they incur the expense of college textbooks. School system transportation is not provided for students who attend Middle College.

Middle College Admission Requirements:

- CMCSS Student
- 2.85 GPA or 20 ACT composite score
- Maturity for a college environment
- Good attendance and behavior
- On track to graduate

Middle College has two options for students: the Transitional Middle College Pathway and the Associate Degree Pathway.

Transitional Middle College Pathway

- Students who complete both their junior and senior years in the transitional pathway will earn a minimum of 30 hours of college credit.
- JUNIORS will be required to take one college class during the fall semester and two college classes during the spring semester.
- SENIORS will be required to take three college classes during the fall semester and four college

Associate Degree Pathway

- Students who complete both their junior and senior years as Associate Degree Pathway students will earn both a CMCSS high school diploma and an APSU Associate Degree.
- Students accepted into this pathway will be required to take classes during the summers between their sophomore-junior year and junior-senior year.
- An additional placement test will be required to admit MC students into this pathway.
