Kim B. Smith has been named assistant principal at Minglewood Elementary School. A past Tennessee Teacher of the Year state finalist, Smith has served in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System for 17 years.
Since 2003 she has served as a reading specialist at Kenwood Elementary School. She also has worked as a teacher at St. Bethlehem and Ringgold Elementary schools
She earned her administrative endorsement from Trevecca Nazarene University, and both her master’s and bachelor’s degrees were earned at Austin Peay State University. Smith has served on a wide variety of committees and has co-chaired Kenwood’s School Improvement Plan team, as well as having served on the school’s leadership team. A number of awards and honors have been bestowed upon Smith, recognizing her teaching abilities.
She has completed the Aspiring Administrators Academy and both leadership academies. Smith replaces Gina Biter who has been named principal of St. Bethlehem Elementary School.
