Schools Director Mike Harris announced the appointments of Evelyn Martinez, Tosha Diggs and Stacie Nicholson to assistant principal positions in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System for the 2009-10 school year.

Nicholson will be assigned to West Creek Middle School, replacing Wanda Shakeenab. Diggs will be assigned to Clarksville High School, replacing Nicholson. And, Martinez will be assigned to Kenwood Middle School, replacing Barbara Smith who is retiring at the end of the school year.
Nicholson currently serves as assistant principal at Clarksville High School, but has had the majority of her educational experience in the middle school setting. She has a B.S. from Middle Tennessee State University and her M.S. with Ed.S. Degrees are from Austin Peay State University.
Diggs is new to the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and will be leaving her position as guidance counselor at Pearl-Cohn Business Magnet Comprehensive High School in Nashville at the end of this school year. Prior to her position there, she served three years as Dean of Academics and Counseling Services at George Washington Carver School of Health and Research in Atlanta where she fulfilled the duties of a traditional high school assistant principal. She also has worked in high schools in North Carolina as a guidance counselor and counseling department chair. She earned her doctorate in educational leadership from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, as well as her educational specialist degree. She earned her master’s in school counseling at Wake Forest University, and a B.A. in history at the University of North Carolina in Asheville.
Martinez, who currently serves as a biology, anatomy and physiology teacher at Clarksville High School, completed the CMCSS Aspiring Administrators Academy. She earned her master’s of administration and supervision from Austin Peay. During her 13-year tenure with the school system, she has been active in a number of school supported activities, from after school programs to leadership team participation. |
