CMCSS congratulates two employees for being honored with an A.F. Bridges District Award. Richard McWhirter, School Support Coordinator for CMCSS, was awarded Athletic Director of the year and Ted Young, Clarksville High Boy’s Basketball Coach, was named Male Coach of the Year.
"It is a humbling honor to be selected for this award. I've had wonderful role models to mimic my whole life, and to be awarded this is really a tribute to my friends, family, current and former players, school, and the city I live in,” states Young.
The A.F. Bridges Awards are given to schools and individuals that have made the effort to stand by a code of conduct, participate in an expected level of behavior and act in an honorable manner during athletic contests.
"I'm very excited and honored to be nominated, because you have to be nominated by the people who know you best," McWhirter said. "You don't do what you do to get awards. You do it because you love what you're doing and you enjoy working with students and teachers."
