Matthew Blake, principal of West Creek Middle School, has chosen to leave his position as principal to teach high school Spanish.
“I feel the need to devote more time to my family and to my studies as a doctoral student. This change also allows me the opportunity to return to my first love of teaching Spanish. Working with the students, faculty, staff, and parents of West Creek Middle School as principal has been a priceless experience. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served this very special community and wish it continued success under its new leadership.”
Blake became principal of WCMS Jan. 2009. Prior to leading West Creek Middle School, Blake was assistant principal at Northwest High School and served 10 years as principal of International Schools in Latin America.
Blake will begin the 2010-11 school year as a Spanish teacher at West Creek High School. The WCMS principal position will be posted on Monday, May 3 for interested applicants. CMCSS leadership will seek a talented and focused leader to work with these wonderful young people.
