NEHS Students Excel in National Financial Literacy Challenge

The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced in spring 2010, seven Northeast High School students who participated in the National Financial Literacy Challenge scored in the top 25th percentile of the nation’s scores. Financial Planning teacher, LaJoyce Weatherspoon, served as advisor to the students.

NEHSStudents receiving the honor are: Gordon Bruce, Jessica Dix, Katie Lax, Travis Johnson, Michael Minton, Michael Sanchez & Amber Tozier.More than 76,000 students participated in the National Financial Literacy Challenge across the nation. The Challenge is geared to help in the growing movement to better prepare young people for an increasingly complex financial system.
