School Board Position Opening

The Clarksville-Montgomery County Board of Education is seeking qualified applicants for the position of School Board Member to represent School District #3 (County Commission Districts 8, 9, and 12) until the next general election to be held in August 2020. Applicants must: be a Tennessee citizen; be at least 18 years of age; reside in School District #3; have a high school diploma or G.E.D.; and be a registered voter in Montgomery County. Board members may not be employees of the School System.

2019 CMCSS Teacher Job Fair

The 2019 Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Teacher Job Fair will take place on April 12. During the Teacher Job Fair, candidates will have the opportunity to meet the principal from each school and learn more about what makes CMCSS The Defining Difference. Intent to hire contracts may be offered on the day of, or the weeks following, the event. CMCSS Recognized for Exemplary Services to Supporting Students

The Tennessee Department of Education has selected the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System as one of six districts to be named as an Exemplary ACCESS District. ACCESS is the acronym for All Children are Challenged and Equipped for Success in School.   CMCSS was recognized for its intensive work and exceptional dedication to providing ACCESS for all students to high quality instruction and intervention over the past two years through the State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG).   This designation is based on training participation data, dedication to the grant design, improvements in teaching methods, improvements in Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) quality, improvements in reading screener scores, and efforts to expand the trainings systemwide. The department is announced this recognition during two sessions at the Partners in Education (PIE) Conference this January.   This work has given CMCSS the opportunity to partner with TDOE and 29 other districts across the state as we impact each student in every facet of their education in the least restrictive setting. This dedication to our educators and students has, and will continue to, positively affect all students in CMCSS for many years to come. These efforts are helping to ensure that All Children are Challenged and Equipped for Success in School.  District SPDG supervisor Rebecca Britt and SPDG facilitators Elaine Hoffert and Debbie Jones, are dedicated to continued opportunities for schools to participate in SPDG 1.0 and 2.0 trainings as schools continue to build upon the success of the grant and create positive, motivating, empowering learning environments throughout the district.


Open Enrollment for 2019-20 School Year

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System offers several nontraditional schools and programs of choice for students. Additionally, specific grade levels in seven elementary schools and two middle schools are available for open enrollment for the 2019-20 school year.


2019-2020 Zoning Recommendation

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board on first reading at the Dec. 4, 2018 School Board Study Session heard the recommendation that no changes be made to the elementary, middle, or high school zone lines for the 2019-2020 school year.


Clarksville Teaching Fellows 2019-2020

THIS NEWS STORY IS FROM 2018 FOR THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR. INFORMATION REGARDING THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE POSTED IN A DIFFERENT STORY. Clarksville Teaching Fellows (CTF) is seeking current Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) classified employees with at least a bachelor’s degree and no teaching certification who desire to become high-performing teachers. This program is made possible through a partnership between CMCSS and the Nashville Teacher Residency (NTR). There are a limited number of positions for the 2019-2020 cohort. Application deadline: Jan. 7, 2019 Clarksville Teaching Fellows one-year program includes: – An 8-week internship so that you can decide if CTF and NTR are right for you – Rigorous, hands-on night classes taught in Nashville by NTR to complement classroom work in CMCSS – Mentoring, coaching and support from NTR staff and experienced CMCSS educators Teacher Placement: We guarantee a full-time teaching position at a CMCSS school for all CTF graduates.
