About Me

Hello CHS Wildcats! Welcome to the 2018-19 school year! I am looking forward to a great year being your English teacher. My mission is to engage my students in meaningful learning to expand their reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language skills with our TN Ready standards. In Clarksville I have been the English Consulting Teacher for the district. I also was a teacher and the academic coach at Northwest HS after a full career in my home state of Indiana – as both English teacher and administrator. My family moved to Clarksville from northern Indiana in 2008. Our son Jim is an Austin Peay graduate who works in international freight forwarding in Nashville. My husband is making progress with some chronic health issues. Mother lives with us and just celebrated her 100th birthday. We also have our two rescue dogs: Bud and Duke.

Classroom Expectations

1.  Be Ready: Come to class on time with your supplies and assignments, ready to participate in the day’s activities. • Sign in when you are tardy. • No food in classroom. • Only water in clear bottles.

2.  Be Responsible: Take ownership for your actions, and choose to be a positive influence in this class. • Remember that we follow all CHS and district rules, including tardies, dress code, and cell phones.

3.  Be Respectful: Treat everyone kindly – fellow students, teacher, other school personnel, guests from the community, and substitute teachers. • Respect yourself as a learner and contributor in this class.

4.  Be Engaged: Focus on the day’s work from bell to bell. • Cell phones are silent and put away. • School-issued laptops are for specified learning purpose only. • Late work loses points each school day it is not submitted.
