About Me

My life in Audio/Video Production began 17 years ago at Kenwood High School where I was once the producer of KNN. Following high school I began DJing and held multiple residencies in the Music City. After years of DJing I attended both Kentucky State University and Austin Peay State University where I earned my degree in Broadcast Media with a specialization in Media Technology and a minor in Graphic Design. At the end of my college career I came on with 5 Star Media Group as a Production Intern writing and producing commercials for radio stations such as Q108, Beaver 100.3, Eagle 94.3, Z97.5, and ESPN Clarksville. When my internship was complete I was asked to stay with the company where I worked as the Digital Media Designer, Promotions Director, and as a Media Marketing Consultant. I look forward to teaching my students industry standards and producing many fun projects together!

Parents and students,

I am very excited to be taking over as the A/V Production teacher at Kenwood High School, and I am glad you are part of this program! I am a product of this program; I was one of Mrs. Jackson’s students many years ago. Being on KNN helped lead me to my broadcasting career.

The A/V Production classes are designed to educate students about all aspects of the media in today’s society. This year we will learn in the classroom and in the studio. Kenwood is fortunate to have a full TV studio in the school. In the coming months my students will learn how to operate each piece of equipment in the studio.

While our equipment is wonderful, essential skills such as reading and writing are also stressed in this course. Students will become more effective public speakers as well, which is so important as they eventually make their way into life after high school.

There will not be a class fee collected for this year. Students are expected to come to class daily with a pencil or pen and should dedicate a folder, spiral, or notebook to this course.

I hope you will always feel free to call on me anytime with questions or concerns. You may reach me at the school 905-7900 ext. 2310 or by email.

Thank you,

Mandy Kelly
