About Me

WELCOME! I am one of the school's Media Specialists. I hold a BA in Education from LaGrange College and a Master's Degree in School Library Media Education from the University of West Georgia. I also teach 2 sections of the Read 180 course. I am proud to serve as the Senior Class Sponsor. I also sponsor Anime & Gamers club, NHS and help maintain the school websites. TN Promise Students have 2 MANDATORY meetings during Senior Year. Seniors are REQUIRED to attend BOTH to receive the two-year scholarship. Parents are not required to attend and may NOT attend in place of their students. Sign-in starts at 5 PM and meetings start promptly at 5:30 on the designated dates. Check the senior website for dates and locations. Failure to attend will void your scholarship application so check the website!

KHS Parking Permit Forms available in the Library and school office. Permits are $15 for the school year, Gold Card holders will be $10. Current license, registration and proof of insurance is required. Please remember that Parking Permits are REQUIRED for all staff and students to park on any school property. There is NO PARKING at the softball field or dog park lots! Permit prices for 2nd semester are $10/$8 and decrease $1 monthly.

If Senior Class members would like to help with class activities or volunteer for service hours, please contact Mrs. Smith in the library or one of the class officers. See the Senior Class website for activities and dates! Working the Library Desk after school, Parking Patrol and Manna Cafe are just examples of Senior Class service activities!

Academic Gold Cards available for Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors who have a Cumulative GPA of 90 or above. Gold Card gets you in home games free, reduced parking permit cost and other extras as they come available. A reward for a job done well!!! Freshman will qualify 2nd semester.

Classroom Expectations

1.  The library provides teachers and students with instructional and technology support. We encourage classroom collaboration, independent research as well as reading for personal enjoyment.

2.  Students must have a pass from a teacher to be admitted to the library during school hours.

3.  Students must sign in and out when using the library both during and after the school day.

4.  Students are expected to treat the library facility and school technology resources with respect.

5.  Students will respect each other and the staff to maintain a positive library atmosphere.

6.  Please make arrangements for transportation after school BEFORE the student stays after school. Academic and club activities are required to end at 4:30 unless otherwise stated. Rides should be on time as students will be dismissed from the building at 4:30.
