About Me

My goal as a teacher is to instill a love of learning about culture and language. I believe, in the global society we are living, it is important to know about the world around us, how we fit in and how to make others feel welcome! I am an Army brat. The perk of being an Army brat for me was that I was able to travel all over the country to see family and then come home to my comfort zone and share what I learned. I am a product of CMCSS and APSU. I graduated from Northeast in 1998. Then, I received my BA in Mass Communications with minors in Spanish and Photography from Austin Peay in 2002. I studied in Mexico and traveled to cultural spots there and in Spain. After 5 years as Visual Journalist at the Leaf-Chronicle, I entered the masters program at Austin Peay to become a teacher. I received my Masters of Arts in Teaching August 8, 2008, and have since been endorsed in Spanish, English and Theatre.

Classroom Expectations

1.  Learning comes first. Leave drama and long personal conversations at the door.

2.  Be on time. Tardies are unacceptable. Schoolwide policies will apply.

2.  TRY! You can only learn from what you try!

3.  Be respectful! Laughing is fine as long as it is not at a fellow student.

4.  Meeting deadlines on assignments is critical to success in all of my classes.
