About Me

Hi there! I am one of the second grade teachers here at Minglewood Elementary School. The 2014-2015 school year will be my first year teaching 2nd grade after a nine-year stretch as a 1st grade teacher at Minglewood. Prior to that I was a substitute teacher for about two years with most of that experience at Minglewood as well. I was born and raised in California, and transplanted to this area in 1996 as a military spouse. I am a proud wife, mother, and grandmother. I received my formal training as a non-traditional student at Austin Peay State University right here in Clarksville, Tennessee. So far, I have earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Reading. I am happy to be teaching each and everyone of your children and I look forward to a very productive year! I encourage you to become actively involved in the education of your child. Together we can help your son or daughter achieve their potential.

Minglewood Elementary School's Vision and Mission:

We have implemented a new school-wide positive behavior program here at Minglewood! It is called, PARR, which stands for Prepared, Accepting, Respectful, and Responsible. The students will learn the expectations for each of those words throughout the school. A great part of this program is the emphasis on the positive behavior students display throughout any school day. They will receive tangible rewards for their positive behavior from me, from the guidance counselor, as well as any faculty member. All they have to do is have good behavior!
