About Me

Growing up in Tennessee and New York, I have wanted to teach middle school from a very early age. I am a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University and love American history. I am looking forward to working with the students at Northeast Middle and getting to know the Clarksville area.


New England Colonies Letter

Write a letter convincing someone (friend or relative) to move to either the New England. You should talk about life in either one of the regions. Minimum of 100 words.

You need to include some of the following in your letter:

1) Describe what colonies you are talking about (New England)

2) Resources (Natural and Human Resources) Natural Resources: Fish, timber, and deep harbor; Human Resources: Skilled craftsmen, shopkeepers, shipbuilders

3) Geography and Climate: Geography (Appalachian Mountains, Hilly terrain, Rocky Soil, and jagged coastline) Climate (Moderate summers, cold winters)

4) Specialization (Fishing, Shipbuilding, industry)

5) Examples of Interdependence (New England depended on the Southern colonies for raw materials such as cotton and on the Middle Colonies for grain and livestock)

6) Social/Political- Village and church center of life; Religious reformers- Separatists and non-separatists Civic Life-Town Meetings
