About Me

Welcome! My name is Hailee Jenkins. I was born and raised in Moore, Oklahoma. After graduating high school I attended Oklahoma State University and received my Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. I worked in an emergency vet clinic for 4 years. In 2013, I met my husband and the Army moved us to Fort Riley, Kansas. I graduated from Kansas State University in May of 2017 with my Bachelors degree in Secondary English Language Arts for grades 6-12 with a Minor in British Literature. I am so excited about working with West Creek Middle and the Wiley Coyote Teams. Please email me if you need anything! hailee.jenkins@cmcss.net

Everything you could possibly need to know for our 6th grade English Language Arts class will be on our Google Classroom. During the first or second week of school, I will walk each student through a how-to on the Google Classroom where assignments, assessments, and announcements will be made.

Assessments will be worth 70% of your grade each 9 weeks.

Practice (class work and homework) will be worth 30% of your grade each 9 weeks.

While we will spend most of our learning time on practice assignments, assessments hold a higher weight so that students can prove they have mastered the skills.

*This is a school-wide policy*

In my class, I use “points” to score assignments/assessments. Example: A typical assignment may be worth 20 points. If there are ten questions and a student misses one, the score is 18/20.

I'm so excited for the 2017-2018 school year. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.

Mrs. Jenkins
