Pre-K Application for 2018-2019

The Pre-K Application period will be open April 23-May 4 for the 2018-2019 school year.  Location and times will be posted on this page by March 1. To prepare for the application period, parents can be collecting the following documents.


1) Birth Certificate

2) Verification of Income


  • 2017 Income Tax 1040
  • 2 current Military LES
  • Current award letter for food stamps, if applicable


Other Verification Documentation, if applicable:

  • Social Security
  • Veteran’s Benefits
  • Disability
  • Unemployment Comp


Documents you will need for enrollment (summer 2018)

1) TN Immunization Form and current physical

2) Two (2) documents proving residence such as an electric bill, water bill, mortgage statement or deed, lease/rental contract. 

  • If a parent/guardian lives with someone else, he or she must bring a notarized Families in Transition (FIT) Affidavit and one of the above documents.


Pre-K Enrollment Guidelines


Students must be 4 years old on or before August 15, 2018 to be enrolled in Pre-K for the 2018-19 school year.  Families will be asked to provide documentation to determine if they meet the income requirements set by the state. Pre-K classes will be filled using the guidelines set forth by the State of Tennessee for Voluntary Pre-K.


They are as follows:

Tier 1 – Students that meet the income eligibility requirements. (poverty guidelines graphic)

Tier 2 – Students with disabilities, students identified as English Language Learners (ELL), or in state custody.

Tier 3 - If space for enrollment remains after identifying children who meet Tier 1 or 2, any child that meets the age requirement and the requirements set forth by the Community Pre-K Advisory Council (C-PAC).
