CMCSS Doubles Number of High Schools on ‘Best’ List

Four CMCSS High Schools were named this week to the 2017 U.S. News Best High Schools rankings, with one awarded silver and three earning bronze medals. Rossview High School was 24th out of Tennessee’s 480 public high schools, with Northwest High, Kenwood High and Montgomery Central High holding the rankings of 37th, 38th and 39threspectively.  Rossview received a silver award with the other three earning bronze. In last year’s rankings, only Kenwood High and Middle College High School at Austin Peay were included in the medal winning list.



Assistant Principal for Barkers Mill Elementary Announced

Assistant Principal for Barkers Mill Elementary Announced Nioka LaVigne has been selected as assistant principal at Barkers Mill Elementary for the upcoming school year. She currently serves as instructional math coach in grades K-5 at Barkers Mill. Previously, she was a third-grade teacher for more than seven years at Woodlawn Elementary School.

Academy-themed Summer Camps Offered

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System will be offering five different college and career academy-themed camps for students this summer. They include: a Coding and Technology Camp at Northeast High; a Criminal Justice Camp at West Creek High; a MediCamp at Northwest High; a Create Workshop at Rossview High; and a STEM Exploration Camp at Kenwood High School. CMCSS’s Music Education Programs Receive National Recognition

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. CMCSS is one of 4% of districts across the nation receiving the prestigious award in 2017, and 1 of 4 in the state of Tennessee.



CMCSS Wins First Place in National Awards Program Recognizing Innovation and Excellence in Public Schools

Alexandria, Va.- The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) is a first-place winner in the 23rd annual Magna Awards program, which is sponsored by the National School Boards Association’s (NSBA’s) flagship magazine, American School Board Journal (ASBJ). The Magna Awards recognize school districts and their leaders for taking bold and innovative steps to improve the lives of students and their communities. CMCSS won for its twice annual program “Business After School”,modeled after the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours. The program, a collaboration of the school system’s Board, the CMC Education Foundation and the Chamber, invites a local audience to learn more about instruction and curriculum in the school system through direct interaction with students.



Community Resource & Job Information Fair

We apologize for this late notice, but the storm system has moved into the area more rapidly than expected, and it will be in our immediate vicinity during our school bus loading and delivery times. CMCSS Teacher Job Fair
