Clarksville – Montgomery County School System offers various summer school opportunities geared towards academic enrichment and character development.
Summer 2021 Opportunities
Imagine Learning: Students will have access to an online platform for reading and math skills. Students should plan to access the app for 40 minutes per day. There will be prizes for meeting participation goals and awards throughout the summer. (June 1 – July 8)
Summer Learning Camp: Students participating in the Summer Learning Camp will attend classes June 1 – July 8 for a designated period of in-person learning. Students may have access to transportation and meals where applicable. Families should contact their student’s teacher for additional details.
Due to the closure of CMCSS schools for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, the 2020 summer programs have been cancelled. Please check back in January 2021 for information regarding summer programs for next summer.
Bridges Leadership is eligible to students enrolling into 9th grade for the upcoming school year and is designed to develop character and leadership skills, while reinforcing academic skills. Academic areas of support include writing, math, & social studies while using a State of TN approved curriculum called Medal of Honor Character Development Program. Selected teachers have been trained in the Medal of Honor character development program and will deliver this program in a 15 day intensive setting at designated high schools.
Middle School Leadership Academy
Leadership Academy is eligible to students enrolling into 7th or 8th grade for the upcoming school year and is designed to develop character and leadership skills, while reinforcing academic skills. Academic areas of support include writing, math, & social studies while using a State of TN approved curriculum called Medal of Honor Character Development Program. This program will incorporate 3 hours of Medal of Honor Character Development Program curriculum with a focus on student growth in the 6 areas outlined by the Medal of Honor program.
Summer Brain Gain
Summer Brain Gain is the CMCSS version of summer school for students currently enrolled in grades 6-8. The program is designed to support students who face the possibility of being retained due to academic deficits based on the TN educational standards. Students selected will be given the opportunity to review common standards from the previous school year in hopes of better understanding the content.
