We are located in Clarksville, Tennessee between Fort Campbell, Kentucky and Nashville, serving a population of over 200,000 people.
CMCSS is the seventh largest district in Tennessee, and according to U.S. Census figures in the top five fastest growing cities in the country.
Clarksville-Montgomery County School System serves over 35,000 students and employs about 4,200 teachers, administrators and support staff.
There are 42 schools in the district: one K-5 Magnet School, 23 elementary, 7 middle, 7 high, an Alternative School, one Early Technical College at Tennessee College of Applied Technology, and one Middle College, which is located on the campus of Austin Peay State University. CMCSS also offers eight specialized, interest-driven college and career preparatory schools within our high schools.
CMCSS is the second largest employer in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area, next to Fort Campbell Army Post.
We are one of nine school districts in the nation with ISO 9001:2015 quality certification, which measures efficiency and effectiveness.
With a graduation rate of 94.2% in 2018, the school system exceeds both state and national averages and receives strong community support for education with an emphasis on 100% graduation for every student. In May 2018, over 2,000 CMCSS graduates earned $45 million plus in college scholarships.
