Internships

What is an internship?

Internships are structured educational programs that combine the academic study of employability skills with paid, hands-on work experiences related to a student’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program of study or career goals. Internships give students the opportunity to apply what they are learning in the classroom in real-world settings, while gaining professional skills and career insights.

Students who are chosen to participate in an internship will be on-site at a business or industry location for as many days/hours per week as is agreed upon between the student, the employer, and the Work-based Learning Coordinator. In addition, students will be assigned lessons through an on-line platform that focus on professional skills. These assignments will encourage students to reflect on the professional skills they see in action in the workplace.

Students will earn credits toward graduation while also earning money under this model!
