AGE Program
What is the A.G.E. Program?
Accountability. Growth. Excellence.
A Free Online Option for Expelled Students
The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System offers the AGE Program as a no-cost, virtual alternative for families of students, grades 6-12, expelled for zero-tolerance offenses. In Tennessee, all students are still required by law to attend school. Instead of leaving families to find costly or complicated solutions, the AGE Program provides a structured, online learning environment that meets state requirements, without any added expense. Students are allowed to keep their issued school laptop, making it simple and convenient to complete their coursework at home.
How the AGE Program Works
Students complete their coursework through the PLP online learning platform. Each day, students are expected to finish five lessons per class to stay on track. To support success, students meet daily on Zoom with licensed teachers and tutors during one of two required sessions: 8:00–11:00 AM or 12:00–3:00 PM. Attendance is mandatory. Students who fall behind must attend both daily sessions until adequate progress is made. Failure to attend or make progress will result in dismissal from the program.
How Do We Apply?
- The school will submit an AGE referral upon parent interest after you complete an agreement form.
- Someone from the AGE Program will contact you to set up an intake meeting to go over the policies and procedures of the program before your child begins. These meetings are mandatory for both the student and a parent/legal guardian.
*If you decide later the program is not a good fit, simply have the other program send a records request to the zoned school and let the AGE program staff know your intent.
