Program Overview:

If you are interested in employment serving a diverse student population while earning your teaching credentials from Austin Peay State University (APSU), the Early Learning Teacher Residency Program (ELTR) may be an option for you to consider.

ELTR residents will earn a bachelor’s degree from APSU in three years by taking approximately two classes per semester with no out-of-pocket expenses. During this time, residents will also serve as full-time Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) employees at one of five Title I elementary schools as teacher residents/educational assistants. Upon successful completion of the residency requirements, candidates are guaranteed a position as a CMCSS teacher.
