CMCSS decision to go the extra thirty minutes

Please note: This article was originally published on 3/7/2014. Information and/or dates from past events may be not be relevant for the current school year. The decision to go the extra thirty minutes to make up a day is based on the fact that students have missed five instructional days . Also, there is content that they will be expected to know on their end of year assessment the last week in April.  Even though they have gone the extra time, they will not have had exposure to that content on their assessment or would have missed out on some foundational knowledge for success at the next grade level.

Inclement Weather Make-up Plan

Please note: This article was originally published on 3/6/2014. Information and/or dates from past events may be not be relevant for the current school year. NOTE:  This is an archived story, referencing the weather plan for April 2014. The weather plan for 2015 will be discussed at the CMCSS School Board Meeting on Tuesday, March 17th.  The Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board voted to forgive four missed days for students. Students will make up one of the five days missed by going an additional 30 minutes beginning April 7 and ending April 24.  This time will be made up prior to high stakes state testing, so students are better prepared for the material on which they will be tested. Students’ last half-day of school will remain May 22.  Graduation ceremonies will remain on May 22, 23 and 24.  Thank you for your support of our students and CMCSS. While we regret students have had to miss so many days, this has been an unusual and extreme winter as evidenced across the country.
