Congratulations to recent West Creek High grad Nathan Roy who won a brand new car from Wyatt Johnson in the Fifth Annual Pass and Go event, a reward celebration for Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Advanced Placement students who score a 3, 4 or 5 on their exam.

Congrats also to the many students who won iPods, laptop computers and other great giveaways from Premier Medical Group. Thanks as well to sponsors William Beach for donating 20 $25 BP cards and to Antonio Murgas for his donation of Dominos Pizza and pizza gift cards. It was quite a celebration with 248 students who passed 345 AP exams!

Wyatt Johnson Automotive Group offered Nathan a choice of three 2013 cars: a Toyota Yaris, a Mazda 2 or a Hyundai Accent.

“We want to recognize those students for working very hard by taking Advanced Placement classes,” said Dr. B.J. Worthington, CMCSS Director of Schools. This year, 376 students passed 524 exams. Last year 359 students passed 504 AP exams with a score of 3, 4 or 5.

“I am excited to be a part of this program,” says Katherine Johnson Cannata, Dealer Principal for Wyatt Johnson. “It’s important to think outside the box and hopefully this will create a bigger incentive for students to enroll in AP classes.”

Premier Medical also has partnered with CMCSS and Wyatt Johnson in the Pass & Go event. They gave away 15 laptop computers and eight iPods. When students registered for the event they received a jump drive. After they received the jump drive they plugged into one of the computers. Winners took home one of the 15 computers. Premier Medical gave digital cameras and gift cards. William Beach Oil donated 20 $25 gas cards. Domino’s Pizza provided food for the students attending and gave away $10 Domino’s Pizza gift cards as well. This event is a community effort and fully sponsored by local businesses who support public education.

Registration for the Wyatt Johnson Pass & Go event will begin at 4 p.m. and end at 5 p.m. Eligible students have receive letters informing them of how many exams they have passed and how many chances they have to win the car.

After the registration is complete students will draw their key(s) from a jar. Included within the total number of keys will be twelve keys, which will open the car door and qualify the key holder as a finalist to draw from another jar of twelve keys, one of which will start the car and designate the winner of the Wyatt Johnson Pass and Go car.

Event parking will be designated at the Wyatt Johnson’s Mazda dealership, located at 2425 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. Attendees may park in the St. Bethlehem Elementary parking lot and a shuttle will be available.
