2016-17 Kindergarten Kickoffs Set

Kindergarten Kickoffs for the elementary schools in CMCSS run through the months of April and May for enrollment in the 2016-17 school year. Children must turn five by August 15 in order to enter kindergarten, according to Tennessee law. Kickoffs give the child and parent an opportunity to hear from the school’s administrator, meet kindergarten teachers and receive registration packets.

Barkers Mill Elementary School: May 5 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Barksdale Elementary School: April  28 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Byrns Darden Elementary School: April 19 from 5:00–6:00 p.m.

Carmel Elementary School: April 7 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Cumberland Heights Elementary School: April 12 from 5:00-6:30 p.m.

East Montgomery Elementary School: April 21 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Glenellen Elementary School: April 21 from 5:30-7:00

Hazelwood Elementary School: April 19 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Kenwood Elementary School: April 14 from 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Liberty Elementary School: April 26 from 5:30-6:30 p. m.

Minglewood Elementary School: April 28 from 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Montgomery Central Elementary School: April 26 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Moore Magnet Elementary School: April 21 from 5:00–6:00 p.m.

Norman Smith Elementary School: May 2 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Northeast Elementary School: May 10 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Oakland Elementary School: May 5 from 5:30 p.m.

Pisgah Elementary School: April 12 from 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Ringgold Elementary School: April 12 from 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Rossview Elementary School: April 21 fron 5:00-6:00 p.m.

St. Bethlehem Elementary School: April 19 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Sango Elementary School: April 28 from 5:00-6:00 p.m.

West Creek Elementary School: April 14 from 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Woodlawn Elementary School: May 2 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

 

According to the State Department of Education, children entering

kindergarten shall be five (5) years of age on or before August 15 for the 2016-17 school year.

 

Tennessee State Law also requires that a student going into the first grade must show proof of attendance in an accredited kindergarten program.

 

A birth certificate or other proof of date of birth

 

State law requires that a copy of a student’s birth certificate be in their cumulative folder. Schools can accept other proof of date of birth for registration, but the parent/guardian needs to provide a copy of the child’s birth certificate.

 

Student’s Tennessee Immunization Record

 

A complete medical exam for the first-time enrollee is recommended.

 

Evidence of completed exam must be presented upon registration. See the Student Health Info page for more information.

 

Two (2) proof of residence documents (Example: water bill, electric bill, lease agreement, etc.) – Other residency information also may be requested by the school.

 

Proof of Custody (if requested by school)

 

Power of Attorney For Care of a Minor Child (required in certain circumstances)
