Principal Named for Montgomery Central Middle

Vicki Winner has been named principal of Montgomery Central Middle School for the 2016-17 school year. She replaces Dee-Etta Whitlock who has taken another position in the district.  Ms. Winner will join CMCSS from Sykesville, Maryland where she has served as principal of Carrolltowne Elementary since 2011.

Ms. Winner has extensive educational leadership experience, serving as an administrator of three different elementary schools in Maryland since 2004.  She has also served in other administrative roles and as a teacher in both rural and inner-city settings in Maryland, California, and New Jersey, culminating in 30 years of instructional experience.  Ms. Winner has almost a decade of experience preparing future teachers as an adjunct education professor at McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland.

 

Ms. Winner earned her Master of Arts in elementary education from California State University and a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Philadelphia Biblical University. She received her administrative credentials at McDaniel College.

 

In addition to her formal education, Ms. Winner also completed a two year graduate-level Autism Leader Cohort at Towson State University in order to better serve the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families.  She also has robust experiences with state- and district-level leadership, such as developing and piloting electronic report cards aligned with state standards, developing new supervisory and evaluative systems, and writing curriculum.
