Free and Reduced Meal Applications

Free/Reduced Meal Applications must be submitted each school year. Beginning July 24, 2019, if you feel that your child(ren) may be eligible for free or reduced meal benefits, you may create an account and apply for meal benefits at www.schoolcafe.com.
Please have each child’s PowerSchool ID number available for this process. This ID also serves as your child’s meal account number. If you do not know your child’s PowerSchool ID, it can be obtained by contacting your child’s school. All children in your household should be included on one application, and all household income must be provided. After completing the application, you will receive a letter notifying you of the eligibility determination.
If your child is not currently directly certified through DC, SNAP or TANF benefits and if you have not received an eligibility determination letter for the 2019-20 school year, an application must be submitted. All charges for meals prior to application approval remain the responsibility of the parent or guardian, so please remember to submit your application as quickly as possible.
Please be aware that even if your child is approved for free or reduced meal eligibility status, all charges for any additional/extra items remain the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
Any negative balances owed on a student account will be communicated through our notification system to the parent/guardian. Please listen to all phone messages from CMCSS.
