The Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation is now accepting applications for the next class of Leadership CMCSS. The leadership program allows business and community members a unique opportunity to learn more about the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS). This eight-session program is held during the school year, August-May. The deadline to apply for the 2022-2023 school year is June 10.

“It was great to go in and see the student experiences and speak with the students, hear the faculty and learn all about what is going on in our district now,” said Aron Mayberry, Leadership CMCSS graduate.

The sessions will be hosted for a minimum of a half-day each month of September, October, November 2022, and January, February, March, and April 2023. There will be a kick-off lunch in August introducing the class and distributing materials. During each half-day session, Leadership CMCSS participants will visit schools and departments that play an integral role in the development of CMCSS students.

“We all have a stake in the school system,” said JoDee Wright, CMC Education Foundation board member and graduate of Leadership CMCSS. “These students are the future of this community.”

Applications are available online at the CMC Education Foundation website. The deadline to submit an application is June 10. Late applications will not be considered.

Each session is designed to foster a more widespread understanding of public education. The goal of the program is to build a substantial advocacy base of leaders who can impact positive change in education. “It is so important to learn about the school system and join this program,” said LCMCSS graduate, Wes Golden. “It allows us to become better advocates for our school system.”
