Community Learning Series

Families can help their incoming high school students prepare for their future through the Community Learning Series. These short, interactive lessons give parents and guardians the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to understand high school opportunities and graduation requirements. Each course takes approximately five minutes to complete and can be done at your convenience. The Community Learning Series can be found here:https://www.cmcss.net/instruction/cte/

Math Textbook Adoption

CMCSS is currently conducting a math textbook adoption process. We invite all parents and guardians to review and provide feedback on the state-approved textbook choices by each level (elementary, middle, high school) to help inform the review committee’s recommendations for Board approval. CMCSS will conduct two math textbook preview nights: Tuesday, February 21 and Wednesday, February 22 from 3-7 p.m. at Central Service South (1312 Highway 48/13, Clarksville, TN 37040). These are open sessions, and families can attend at any time within the window. Additionally, CMCSS will soon be providing a webpage with electronic materials from publishers and a link to provide feedback. Please check www.cmcss.net and social media for updates on the opportunity to provide feedback electronically.

We’re Hiring!

CMCSS is continuing to grow, and we are continuing to hire for various positions across the District. With the support of our School Board, Montgomery County Commission, and the community, we have implemented a mid-year, 5% pay increase for all employees.

Kirkwood High School is opening in August 2023, and we have already posted several positions. Additionally, we have around 60 open teaching positions for immediate hire with over 80% in hard-to-fill, national shortage areas, including special education, secondary math and science, and school counseling. Although we currently have more bus drivers transporting students than we have had on staff in several years, we are continuing to hire drivers and substitute drivers, as well as several different classified employee positions like custodians, child nutrition staff, and educational assistants. If you or someone you know is looking for a rewarding career making a difference in the lives of our 39,000 students, please visit www.cmcss.net/employment for more information and to begin an application.

For our most flexible employment opportunities, we are actively hiring substitute teachers. Substitute teaching is also a great way to meet school administrators and get on the path to full-time career opportunities. CMCSS is hosting a Substitute Hiring Event for those who would like to learn more:
