August 2026 Administrator Appointments

The following administrative appointments were announced on August 27, 2026.

Kirkwood Elementary School Assistant Principal

Amy Armstrong has been selected as an assistant principal at Kirkwood Elementary School. She currently serves as an Academic Coach at Kirkwood Middle School, where she previously taught sixth-grade math and science. Armstrong joined CMCSS in 2017 as a second-grade teacher at Hazelwood Elementary School before moving to Rossview Elementary School, where she taught fourth grade. Her leadership experience includes serving as a grade-level lead teacher at both Hazelwood and Rossview elementary schools and as the K–2 ELA Lead Teacher at Hazelwood. Armstrong completed the CMCSS Introduction to Leadership Academy and the Aspiring Administrator Academy. Recognized for her impact in the classroom and school community, she was named a CMCEA Green Apple award winner in 2019 and a CMCEA Distinguished Educator in 2022. Armstrong earned her M.A.Ed. in Educational Leadership and her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Austin Peay State University.

Northeast Middle School Principal

Kelsea Cox was selected as the principal of Northeast Middle School. She had most recently served as the principal of Moore Magnet STEAM Elementary School, a position she held since 2021. During her tenure at Moore Magnet, the school earned a STEAM Designation from the Tennessee STEM Innovation Network and was named a Tennessee Reward School for the first time in the school’s history. Cox began her career in CMCSS in 2011 as a first-grade teacher at Barkers Mill Elementary School, where she later served as an Academic Coach and as an assistant principal from 2016 to 2021. She has served on the Governor’s Standards Review Committee for K–5 ELA, as well as district textbook adoption committees. Cox earned her M.A.Ed. in Educational Leadership and her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Austin Peay State University.

Moore Magnet Elementary STEAM School Principal

Chelsea Polston was selected as the principal of Moore Magnet Elementary STEAM School. She had most recently served as the assistant principal at Moore since 2023. Polston joined the district in 2013 as a second-grade teacher and later taught fourth and fifth grade before becoming a K-5 instructional coach in 2021. Her leadership experience includes serving on the district Dyslexia Committee, leading school-based Reading Language Arts initiatives, and serving as a mentor administrator to aspiring leaders. She was named Green Apple Teacher of the Year in 2016, earned two Distinguished Educator Awards, and completed the CMCSS Aspiring Administrators Academy. Polston earned an Ed.S. in Administrative Leadership from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville, an M.A. in Reading from Austin Peay State University, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Austin Peay State University, as well as a Lean Six Sigma certification from Vanderbilt University.

Student Transportation Manager

Dr. Canadra Jimerson has been selected as the Student Transportation Manager for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, replacing Liz Kong, who is retiring in September after 25 years of service. Dr. Jimerson most recently served as a teacher, AVID coordinator, assistant athletic director, and summer school administrator at West Creek Middle School, earning her teaching certification through a CMCSS Teacher Residency Pathway. She brings extensive transportation experience to the role, having previously served as a Fleet Supervisor and Route Analyst for CMCSS. Her honors include being named West Creek Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2022 and completing the CMCSS Aspiring Administrators Academy. Dr. Jimerson earned a D.B.A. and an M.B.A. in Organizational Leadership from South University, an M.Ed. in Leadership from Austin Peay State University, and a B.S. in Social Science from the University of Maryland Global Campus.

Northwest High School Assistant Principal

Evan Stinson has been selected as an assistant principal at Northwest High School. Stinson has served as the principal and assistant principal at Northeast Middle since 2017. He began his career in education in 2012 and has been a teacher at Kenwood Middle and a teacher, counselor, and behavior specialist at Centerstone Weems Academy and Maxim Healthcare. He has served in several school- and district-level leadership roles, including Partners in Education Coordinator, Improvement Plan Chair, Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Coordinator, and team leader. Stinson earned his M.S. in Human Development and Leadership and B.S. in Middle School Education from Murray State University. He earned his Instructional Leadership administrative endorsement from Bethel University.

Hazelwood Elementary School Assistant Principal

Jessica Phillips has been selected as an assistant principal at Hazelwood Elementary School. She currently serves as an instructional coach at Liberty Elementary School, where she previously worked as a Multi-Classroom Leader (MCL) and classroom teacher across second, third, and fifth grades since 2013. Phillips has taken on numerous leadership responsibilities within CMCSS, including grade-level department chair, Family and Community Involvement chair, and District Lead Teacher. A two-time school-level Teacher of the Year and recipient of the Green Apple Teacher Award, she has completed the CMCSS Leadership 360 program, the Aspiring Administrators Academy, and the Ayers Institute Coaching Academy. Phillips earned her M.A. in Educational Leadership Studies and her B.S. in Elementary Education from Austin Peay State University.

Kenwood Middle School Assistant Principal

Ania Tinord has been selected as an assistant principal at Kenwood Middle School. She most recently served as an assistant principal at Minglewood Elementary School. Tinord began her career in CMCSS in 2013 as an English-Language Arts teacher at West Creek High School before transitioning to Kenwood Middle School, where she served as an ELA teacher, grade-level English lead teacher, and building-wide ELA content lead. Her leadership experience includes serving as a Site-Based Induction Specialist and mentor teacher, as well as the Extended Learning Coordinator and Afterschool Programs Director. Tinord earned her M.A.Ed. in Educational Leadership, her M.A.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Instructional Technology, and her B.S. in English from Austin Peay State University.

Moore Magnet Elementary STEAM School

Dr. Hannah Oglesbee has been selected as the assistant principal at Moore Magnet Elementary STEAM School. Oglesbee currently serves as an assistant principal at Kirkwood Elementary School and previously served as an assistant principal at Pisgah Elementary School. Dr. Oglesbee began her career with CMCSS in 2019 and has served as an Academic Coach at Moore Magnet STEAM Elementary School and as a Multi-Classroom Leader, content mentor, and classroom teacher. Dr. Oglesbee was named Teacher of the Year in 2021-2022 and was selected as a Tennessee STEM Innovation Network (TSIN) Workforce Fellow in 2022-2023. She currently serves as an adjunct professor at Austin Peay State University and has held several leadership and mentor roles in curriculum and instruction. Dr. Oglesbee earned her Ed.D. and Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University and her M.S. in Reading and B.S. in K-5 Education from Austin Peay State University.
