CMCSS announced the following administrator announcements in November:

Shelby Hicks
Northeast Middle School Assistant Principal

Shelby Hicks has been selected as an assistant principal at Northeast Middle School. Hicks currently serves as a sixth-grade math teacher and apprentice administrator at Richview Middle School, where she was selected for Austin Peay State University’s Principal Registered Apprenticeship Program. Hicks joined CMCSS in 2017 and has served in multiple school leadership roles at Richview Middle, including Sixth-Grade Team Lead, Math Team Lead, and After-School Program Administrator. Additionally, she has held several district-level leadership roles, including serving on the Math Symposium 2025 Planning Committee, participating in textbook adoption and assessment committees, and facilitating district professional learning activities. Hicks was recently named the 2026 Richview Middle School Teacher of the Year and was selected as a Top 3 CMCSS District Teacher of the Year. She is a graduate of the CMCSS Aspiring Administrators Academy and the CMCSS Teacher-Leader Academy. Hicks earned both an M.A.Ed. in Educational Leadership Studies and an M.A.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction (Mathematics) from Austin Peay State University, as well as a B.S. in Integrated Studies (Mathematics 4-8) from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
