Schools Director Announces Retirement

Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools Director Mike Harris announced his plans to retire at the end of this school year. Mr. Harris has contributed 36 years of service to public education, including five years in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. He also has experience from Williamson County and as superintendent in Iowa and as Deputy Superintendent in Guilford County, North Carolina.  The School Board will develop plans to appoint a new director for a smooth transition in July.

If the Weather Turns Frightful

Just as lovely fall weather begins to arrive in Clarksville, Montgomery County, the School System begins preparations for the possibility of inclement weather. After all, those from the area know that Middle Tennessee weather is extremely fickle and can change at the drop of a hat.

College and Career Fair Slated

The CMCSS Annual College and Career Fair is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 26 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Foy Fitness Center at Austin Peay State University.

Rezoning Plan Approved for 2012-13

The School Board has approved a rezoning plan for the 2012-13 school year, affecting a total of 1,241 middle and high school students and 705 elementary students. To open Carmel Elementary in August 2012, students will be shifted from East Montgomery, Barksdale and Sango Elementary schools.

CMCSS CAO Named Tennessee Supervisor of the Year

Worthington was named Tennessee Supervisor of the Year Monday night during the state Department of Education’s annual Leadership Conference in Nashville.
