Schools are on a Two-Hour Delay Wednesday, March 1

This is the Communications Office from the Clarksville Montgomery County School System. We will be on a two-hour delay this morning, March the 1st. We apologize for this late notice, but the storm system has moved into the area more rapidly than expected, and it will be in our immediate vicinity during our school bus loading and delivery times. Again, there will be a two-hour delay this morning.



CMCSS Teacher Job Fair

For the 2017-2018 school year, the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System anticipates hiring approximately 400 teachers. During the Teacher Job Fair, candidates will have the opportunity to meet the principal from each school and learn more about what makes CMCSS The Defining Difference. Intent to hire contracts may be offered on the day of, or the week following, the event. 2017-18 Zoning Plan Impact

A study of existing school zone lines and school building capacities has been completed and a plan has been developed and approved for the 2017-2018 school year. The initial recommendation was presented to the Board of Education on Nov. 1, 2016 and has impact on Northeast, West Creek and Kenwood Middle and High schools. Attendance maps are available by clicking on the links below. A public hearing was held on January 3. The final recommendation was presented and approved by the Board of Education on Jan. 10, 2017. This zoning plan will not be implemented until August 2017. 



March is Youth Art Month

March is Youth Art Month!  The yearly CMCSS student art exhibit will be on display at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library for the entire month of March.  The opening reception will be held on Sunday, March 5  from 2 – 4 p.m.  Refreshments will be served and it is open to the general public.



Input Invited for Next Schools Director

The Clarksville-Montgomery County Board of Education commissioned the Tennessee School Boards Association to assist with a search for a Director of Schools. The Board requested that TSBA assist in establishing criteria for judging candidates for the position of Director of Schools.



Cyber Safety Workshop to be Live Streamed

Parent/Guardian Surveys Dispatched Soon

Each year, the district conducts a Parent/Guardian Survey during the second semester. This survey is designed to obtain parent/guardian feedback on each school’s overall performance and to gather data regarding student access to technology. The survey will be dispatched via SchoolMessenger, with parents and guardians having the option to complete the survey via phone or on the web. Parents will receive a call for each school in which they have a child attending.



WCMS Counselor Honored at White House

West Creek Middle School Counselor Dr. Eva Gibson was chosen as Tennessee’s 2017 School Counselor of the Year. She was honored at the White House as a part of the 2017 School Counselor of the Year event hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama. Clarksville-Montgomery CountySchool Board member Charlie Patterson recognized Dr. Gibson at the January School Board meeting, along with her Assistant Principal Michael Moseley.



ONE HOUR EARLY DISMISSAL – FRIDAY, JANUARY 6, 2017

Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools will dismiss one hour early today, Friday, January 6. This allows time for the city and state street and highway departments to clear roads, and helps us avoid delivering students home at dark. Please work with us as transportation may be slower since the whole community is dealing with this unexpected snowfall and our buses may be running at a slower pace. Schools will remain open to receive students if the bus cannot deliver children to their stops. Parents will be contacted by the school if their child is taken to a school. Buses may not be able to follow the inclement weather routes if a road is not passable.
