Construction Begun on NWHS

Architect Gary Violette and contractor R.G. Anderson have begun the process of renovating CMCSS’ third oldest high school. Elected officials, school staff and parents joined in symbolically turning shovels of dirt at the site as construction begins for the two- to three-year project.


New Pisgah Principal Named

Oden has been named principal of the new Pisgah Elementary School when it opens in August 2013. Mrs. Oden currently is principal at Kenwood Elementary where she has served since 2008.


Preparing for Inclement Weather

Thus, when schools are faced with threatening weather, the district’s telephone notification system is programmed to send a message to the number provided. Tennessee Names Winter Principal of the Year

NASHVILLE – Minglewood Elementary school principal Jane Winter earned top honors for her work in Tennessee education. Ms. Winter, principal of Minglewood Elementary School in Clarksville/Montgomery County Schools, was named Tennessee’s 2012-13 Principal of the Year. She has served as principal at Minglewood since 1994.


Moore and St. Bethlehem Win Grants

The Tennessee Department of Education announced the recipients of its Focus Grants, two of which have been awarded to Moore Magnet Elementary and St. Bethlehem Elementary School in CMCSS.  Each school will receive $200,000 over a two-year period.


CHS Girls Golf Take State Again

Information and/or dates from past events may be not be relevant for the current school year.    Winning the TSSAA state golf championship last year was a major feat for the Clarksville High School girls team, but winning it for the second year in a row makes it even more exceptional. The team of  Samantha Gotcher, Whitney Robertson and Megan Beane beat last year’s CHS team by 11 strokes. In what equaled the fifth-best tournament score in the history of the TSSAA state golf tournament, CHS defended its Class AAA championship, holding off Farragut by 10 strokes with a team score of 292.  Additionally, standout Samantha Gotcher was the top medalist in the tournament with an individual score of 141 from the two-day tournament.  Teammate Whitney Robertson took the fourth medalist position with a score of 153. Vicki Moncrief is the CHS girls golf coach.


CMCSS Receives $2.5 million DoDEA Grant for STEM

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System will receive a $2.5 million award under the 2012 Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) grant for enhancement of its Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs.

More than 2,000 High School Freshmen to Get Graduation Motivation

The 100% Graduation is Clarksville’s Business committee and presenting business sponsors announce the first ever Get Motivated…2016 assembly for  all Clarksville-Montgomery County freshmen. This assembly will be held at the Dunn Center on the campus of Austin Peay State University with all high schools on Thursday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Winners Inc. is presenting speaker Keith Davis, a former NFL player and Academic All-American who will help engage, enlighten, and empower students through his personal story to be successful. The assembly, which is sponsored by One Hour Heating and Cooling, Daymar Institute, Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union and the CMC Education Foundation will highlight the following and much more:
